2008…a recollection…

It has been a fruitful year for me in this field…

Ah! Finally, I can write this thankful note for the past year of 2008. Has been procastinating on the compilation slideshow which I wanted to do for the entire year of 2008. I just went back to all the weddings that I have shot and found out that officially I became a wedding photographer only in the mid of 2007. This means in the middle of 2009, I will be a two years old baby in this industry! Well, I guess number of years do not matter in this field, right?

There are quite a number of events which happened in 2008. Some were great and some were not too great. But the fact that I was involved in this wedding industry as a photographer has given me some insights which I have never experienced before. I have learned a great skill of communication (although I still suck at it), made new friends, see new things, learn stuffs from others who has been in this industry for many years, and learned how to manage myself (another thing which I still suck at…again).

I have laughed whole heartedly as well as wept whole heartedly throughout 2008, personally as well as in my business. Putting up through as many obstacles as there were in my road has made me perhaps a teeny weeny 20% of the man I am today. There is still a very long way ahead of me, I know. I remember I have tried to apply WPJA for 4 times and failed as well as AGWPJA for 3 times and succeeded in my final attempt. It might be nothing big to others but I vowed myself that if I continue trying to do my best, there is no way I won’t be able to join this association. I did finally…and I won two awards…beginner’s luck or what, I am very thankful for that, almost to the edge of crying as well, hah! Believe me, I will become emotional sometimes.

OKAY! I need to thank my family and my loved ones for all their endless support while I started doing this lovely and meaningful job of mine. Also, to a few fellow photographers who have assisted me throughout. Thank you so much for their patience in guiding such a slow and stubborn student like me!!! And also to all my clients-friends who have put so much trust in me by having me as their photographer during their big day! It’s a big trust and I love you guys!

I will continue to deliver the best in this year of 2009 and the years to come…as your story unfolds, so shall it be retold…

P/S I have lost all those lovely comments which all of you have written to me in my previous blog. I am sorry for that but I have gone through most of the comments more than once, believe me. It gave me the strength and supports to carry on and I thank you all for that!!! HUGSSSS!!!!!!! And with that, for every comments which are written in this entry, I will donate RM 1 to World Vision (cause I have been supporting their child sponsor for 2 or 3 years now, if not mistaken). Not trying to flood my entry with comments, but wanted to do some charity as I am thankful for everything that I have now.

    Hey Zach,

Even though we both started around the same time, you’re definitely light years ahead in what you’ve managed to capture so far.

Having seen you work and seen your pictures in raw, I am astounded by your point of view, they’re awesome and all I can say is keep up the great work bro!

    Hey Zach,

We think you are a great photographer. It is not what is said but what is shown through your actions and beautiful pictures that matters. So don’t be too hard on yourself for not being as “communicative” as you should have 😉

A beautiful heart is above all else. We love your World Vision idea, for people like you, life is more menaingful.

Happy 2009 and may you grow even more this year and the many more to come. We will always support you.

Hats off to you Zach for your exceptional recollection of 2008!

You go the extra mile in improving yourself, and it can be seen through all your pictures. Winning two AGWPJA awards proved that you have outdone yourself.

We look forward to seeing more great stories unfolding and hopefully, more awards from AGWPJA in 2009!

Best wishes for 2009! We will always love you Zach!

Congrats on the AGWPJA awards. Do keep trying for WPJA.

Never left you a comment before but your world vision idea prompted me to do so this time.

thanks everyone for their lovely comments and support throughout the year and coming years! And also your generosity to donate to World Vision! I betta put a dateline to this which is middle of the year, June. The donation will be times ten which is RM10 per comment since now 15 comments = RM15 won’t be a lot, ;).
