Boon Tong + Paige + Natalie

Family portraits are a must like wedding portraits. It will bring back those sweet memories when you see the photos ten years down the road or even more. These are timeless photos which you will keep them for the next generation to see. Back then, we have family portraits taken in studio or using those old film cameras. Our poses – stand still and smile. But of course, those meant something to us as well for those are the only photos which reminds us of our childhood during our own time.
Paige is one of Wai Choon’s friend (shot Wai Choon’s wedding back in Nov 2008). I saw her with her husband, Boon Tong and their lovely baby daughter, Natalie at the wedding reception. Whenever I see a cute baby, I will be concentrating on him/her for a while. Soon after the wedding, before CNY, I got a call from Paige to shoot for Natalie’s coming birthday. Natalie’s birthday falls on the 25th December but we had the shooting session one week earlier. As I know, being a Capricorn myself, and having one niece and one nephew who are Capricornians, we are quite cool and characteristic people. Not praising ourselves but it is something which I observed in us,
. As for Natalie, she was quite cool at first, but later seem to get used to my big lenses pointing at her. We had a great fun shooting at the park before proceeding to collect her birthday cake from coffee bean. The shooting session ends back at their place and after Natalie fell asleep.
Here are some of my fav pics:

Most kids enjoy “flying”…

Such a happy family!!!

Paige stays home and take care of her daughter…how nice is that,

Another fav of mine!!

And another…how I wanna snuggle in there as well, so warm!

It was scary to be left behind in that big swing. But finally, we got the shot we wanted,

Back at home, where Natalie felt the most comfortable and relaxed and there she was learning to stand up.

Almost time for bed…this is what they call Baby Five!

How adorable is Natalie!!!

Aaawwww….

If I ever had a photo of this of my parents, aaawww…..would be appreciating it every seconds.

Ah, finally Damon and Wai Yeen, your awaited moment has finally come. So sorry it took so long, guys!
It is always great to be able to work with your couple before the actual day wedding i.e. shooting for their pre-wedding or ROM. This allows you to know them and communicate better when the big day arrives. Well, Damon and Wai Yeen were one of the first few couples who took up my lifestyle couple portraiture promotion deals when I launched it during Valentine’s Day of 2007. They were basically up to anything that I suggest them to do for the shooting. During the shoot, I was already aware of Damon’s gentleness and care for Wai Yeen. They are such a funnyand lovely couple.
Before I proceed with their actual day wedding photos, I would love to share their engagement portrait photos. Here is the same slideshow which was earlier in my blog previously before it was gone. See how fun was Damon and Wai Yeen!
So, without further ado, let’s go to their actual day photos. The morning part went well especially the games session cause there were no restrictions of what the groom could do or could not do. Damon has to go through 3 drinking sessions with his gang except for a toast with his father-in-law. And not forgetting a short dance before entering the main entrance door. SOon after tea ceremony, as usual, we went out for brief shooting with the bridal entourage and the couple. Damon brought me to a park in Shah Alam but right opposite the park was a government building and it attracted me more rather than the park itself,
. The gang was very fun and easy to work with. I personally loved one photo I took of the gang with their funny faces. Way to go, guys! And after that, we proceed to the carpark to have a short portraiture session with Damon and Wai Yeen.
As for dinner, it was as great as the tea ceremony. Damon and Wai Yeen surprised their guests during entrance by singing the song “You’re just too good to be true”. Yes, it’s so lovely and romantic! At the end of the dinner, thye have a table of friends who stayed behind and yum seng til crazy! Oh yes, I was dragged to drink some as well with their friends!
It was fun though!

This was the first time I met Michelle, a great make up artist who has been in this industry for a long while now.

Loved the “kuah” Wai Yeen was wearing that day.

Kinda loved this photo…The excited yet calm looking Damon going to get her bride.

And the chee muis were already at the door waiting to ambush the guys.

And there she was, upstairs waiting for her loved one to come and pick her up…

And there he was trying to dance his way up to meet his beloved bride. I forgotten, did you sing as well, Damon?

One of my fav as well…when leaving the hotel room.

Back at Damon’s place, they were having some prayers and I caught eyes on this calender,

This pic would definitely be one of my fav blog header…when my blog has a header one day!

Loved this car park, definitely a great shooting spot!!

Yes, I do pose my couple to have that shot I want in mind and when I asked Wai Yeen to act ticklish, she pulled it off pretty well!

Singing their way into the dinner hall…

Their toast together…

followed with the guests…

I guess not everyone can stand the long and loud yum seng cheers!!!

Fortunately, we got a few shots before the lights were turned off. And thanks to Damon’s friend, Siew Yen for helping out with the lighting on their faces.

If you want to look for a life partner, internet might be one of the options nowadays. Believe me, it works cause few of my clients were now happily married. This is not an act of desperate but consider it as a door of opportunity. Love or so to say “destiny” finds its way to you in different mysterious ways and internet might be one of those. Just so, be careful when you are going out with a stranger on the first date!
And so, Adrienne and Elvin met each other via ICQ almost ten years back now. From then, they have overcome their differences and now, became each other’s best friend, lover and life partner. As for their wedding, Adrienne has everything planned out well and has set red as her wedding theme. From her shoes, door gifts, flowers, and even her guests during dinner, you will not miss that hint of red in them.
Here are some highlights from the wedding, and do view the slideshow for more photos.

Used a small LED torchlight to light up the shoes at a dark corner…

Adrienne was playing around with my 5D. She used to learn photography back then. She just got herself a Nikon D90 after the wedding and really into photography now!

Few moments of portraiture with Adrienne before Elvin arrives…

The groom arrives…

While waiting for the games session to begin, I had some group photos with Elvin and his “brothers”.

That was Adrienne’s dad being sporting and wanted to join in the games!

Elvin singing for Adrienne…just the one verse “What a difference a day make…”

And look how smiley was Adrienne…

A photo with Adrienne’s chee muis before leaving the house…

Kinda love this photo, especially the expression on Adrienne’s dad’s face,

Back at Elvin’s place for tea ceremony. How happy was Elvin’s mom!

Photo session with Adrienne and Elvin, more of it in the slideshow!

Toasting ceremony…

Such a happy family photo!!!

Flower Drum Restaurant has this nice place to do shooting…

It was a great pleasure working with Adrienne and Elvin. They were so nice that even before the wedding day, I got a gift from them. They even had a dinner after the wedding for the bridal entourage, videographer and me for the successful wedding. And, Adrienne and Elvin bought a cake to celebrate those birthdays who fell in the month of December, which was mine and another friend of Elvin. How thoughtful of them! It is always nice to be appreciated by the clients like receiving a gift from them, or a big hug and thank you. This is the pleasure of working hard and making each couple happy at the end of the day.

From left: Me, Adrienne, Elvin and the videographer (sorry I forgotten his name, Adrienne can you help me with this?
)

The whole gang who have helped during the wedding. Thanks Adrienne and Elvin for the great dinner!
P/S Definitely, you may have notice that the display size has changed for this post, just something I would like to try out. The previous size is the one which will stay on. So sorry, for the delay on blogging, will try to do it as often as possible to catch up with past year’s weddings!
