A quest to conquer!!!

I believe a saying known as “a blessing in disguise” cause I have experienced it for a few times now. In March, I have only one wedding assignment and for the rest of the entire month, my schedule is empty during weekends. At this point, my third sister said to me “Hey, wanna climb Mount KK and help us raise some fund for charity? It’s for children with cardiac disease.” I was quite reluctant at first, thinking that can I manage to climb Mount KK since I seldom exercise. And another thought was what if suddenly I get some bookings. So after much consideration and some pushing from my sister, I finally agreed to her and will be becoming the official photographer for the event as well.

Saying yes is easy, now the other part is to train myself and get ready for the climb. I will need to carry not just my own weight but my gears as well. Also, I will need the stamina to click the shutter, haha! So, according to my sister, all I need to do is to climb the 21 floors of stairs at the place, 3-4 times daily for 3-4 days a week! WOWEE!! Anna-Rina, I know, it’s too simple for you, hehe. Well, this is a challenge for me as well as the challenge to climb Mount KK. How good is this blessing, to be able to climb the highest peak of South East Asia while doing charity at the same time! So, this is therefore, one of a huge challenge for year 2009!

And now, this is for you readers! Besides climbing, I will have to raise RM 10,000 for the charity. At first, I was telling my sister, I can’t possibly do that in such short time (sometimes I am the pessimist) but my sister told me she raised RM8k plus last year in TEN days, easily! OKAY…I will try my best then. So readers – fellow photogs, clients, friends, whoerver you are, you have been put to a challenge! All you need to do is to donate couple of hundred dollars for this charity! Don’t try to click away now! HAHA! Just kidding, but if not how am I to raise such a fund?!! OKAY, back to serious business, I would really appreciate it, on behalf of those children with cardiac disease, any sum will do that if you are interested in donating to them, please contact me and I will tell you how to do it. You can also log onto the hospital’s website at and browse around their site. They have done plenty of charities to help raise fund for their patients. So, now, it’s your turn to do a bit and help me help them.

The collection period as shown in the poster above is from Jan 15th till March 15th, 2009. Hoping to hear from you guys and you might get something in return…yeah, a blessing in disguise! But hey, we never do charity hoping to get something for return, right??!! 😉

2008…a recollection…

It has been a fruitful year for me in this field…

Ah! Finally, I can write this thankful note for the past year of 2008. Has been procastinating on the compilation slideshow which I wanted to do for the entire year of 2008. I just went back to all the weddings that I have shot and found out that officially I became a wedding photographer only in the mid of 2007. This means in the middle of 2009, I will be a two years old baby in this industry! Well, I guess number of years do not matter in this field, right?

There are quite a number of events which happened in 2008. Some were great and some were not too great. But the fact that I was involved in this wedding industry as a photographer has given me some insights which I have never experienced before. I have learned a great skill of communication (although I still suck at it), made new friends, see new things, learn stuffs from others who has been in this industry for many years, and learned how to manage myself (another thing which I still suck at…again).

I have laughed whole heartedly as well as wept whole heartedly throughout 2008, personally as well as in my business. Putting up through as many obstacles as there were in my road has made me perhaps a teeny weeny 20% of the man I am today. There is still a very long way ahead of me, I know. I remember I have tried to apply WPJA for 4 times and failed as well as AGWPJA for 3 times and succeeded in my final attempt. It might be nothing big to others but I vowed myself that if I continue trying to do my best, there is no way I won’t be able to join this association. I did finally…and I won two awards…beginner’s luck or what, I am very thankful for that, almost to the edge of crying as well, hah! Believe me, I will become emotional sometimes.

OKAY! I need to thank my family and my loved ones for all their endless support while I started doing this lovely and meaningful job of mine. Also, to a few fellow photographers who have assisted me throughout. Thank you so much for their patience in guiding such a slow and stubborn student like me!!! And also to all my clients-friends who have put so much trust in me by having me as their photographer during their big day! It’s a big trust and I love you guys!

I will continue to deliver the best in this year of 2009 and the years to come…as your story unfolds, so shall it be retold…

P/S I have lost all those lovely comments which all of you have written to me in my previous blog. I am sorry for that but I have gone through most of the comments more than once, believe me. It gave me the strength and supports to carry on and I thank you all for that!!! HUGSSSS!!!!!!! And with that, for every comments which are written in this entry, I will donate RM 1 to World Vision (cause I have been supporting their child sponsor for 2 or 3 years now, if not mistaken). Not trying to flood my entry with comments, but wanted to do some charity as I am thankful for everything that I have now.
